BILLBOARD RECOGNITION

So part of my life statement to this world is trying my best to give back when i can. So i do non-profit work for free where i donate my time and then give the organization a cd of the images i have taken for them to use in their marketing material or for whatever reason. I expect nothing and rarely does anyone know who it was that took the photos but over the years i have done different organizations. Since i started helping Luekemia Lymphoma Society i have done many events. I LOVE IT. They have a special place in my heart as there was a time not too long ago that they thought my grandson might have luekemia.. he didn't, but as we sat on the pediatric oncology floor of the hospital feeling such relief that he didn't it dawned on us that all the other parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers were dealing with this is their lives. It was very humbling.. and then shortly there after, as if by the hand of God.. i got a call asking if i would be interested in helping this organization out. This was a random inquiry to my photography club TAPPA. So knowing first hand how difficult this disease is and how it needs all the support it can get.. I didn't hesitate and did the three LIGHT THE NIGHT fund raisers. That has turned into a relationship with Laura and the gang at LLS. So they called me to do their kick off fund raiser. Man and Woman of the Year. So of course.. I was like sign me up. Well, i did it and this photo is one of those that i took. So they used it to honor those men and women who are nominated for man and woman of the year.. but they were gracious enough to add my name to the billboard. It was so nice of them to recognize me but i have to tell you though.. i have gotten much more out of these events then i could ever give in return as far as love of life and realizing how precious life really is. So thanks LLS for giving much more then recognition.. thanks for giving me a chance to give back to those less blessed then I!
